There are some higher degree fields of study that will have almost and immediate recognition, such as the medical profession. Then there is more of a complicated system for lawyers and such, which includes a trial period. You will want to make contact with the NARIC for detailed information.
With secondary degrees, you will want to present your diploma, if you are not carrying on with your studies, get a stamp from the Portuguese embassy and then present that to CIREP. For those who will be resuming their studies in Portugal, you will need the recognition of the school that you will be enrolling in.
