February – what’s on in Portugal
Beautiful Algarvian almond blossom
Published on
February is one of the quietest times for overseas visitors in Portugal and the weather continues to be mild. There are many fantastic things to do, not just golf - these are our favourite four:
11th January – 11th March – The Perfect Chapter – Cascais
The Perfect Chapter is a surfing contest that takes place on the best day of the Portuguese winter at Carcavelos Beach. Sixteen surfers are chosen by the public through an online vote, choosing the best national and international surfers in barreling waves. Not to be missed!

31st January – 2nd February – Almond Blossom Festival – Castro Marim
The Almond Blossom Festival is an event celebrating the flowering almond trees with street entertainment, children's shows, gastronomy, music, theatre and spectacular walking tours.
Midway through January, we see the Algarve’s landscape changing. Fields start to be covered in shades of pink and white from the almond trees in bloom, providing one of the season’s most beautiful landscapes.
14th February – Valentine's Day – Lisbon
There is no better place to be than Lisbon for Valentine's Day if you want to impress your loved one. You can plan and choose the perfect romantic hotel along with a rooftop restaurant that offers stunning views of the city and the River Tejo. What could be more romantic than that?
