November events in Portugal
Published on
November is a cosy month in Portugal with the smell of hot chestnuts sold on street corners filling the air. The weather is still mild and it’s a perfect time to look for that new home. Whilst you are here, enjoy five of our favourite events:
1st – 11th November – The National Horse Fair - Golegã
The National Horse Fair takes place over eleven days in Golegã, a region where equestrian traditions are deeply rooted.
This is one of the country's most typical fairs, attracting thousands of people to the various events featuring the magnificent Lusitanian thoroughbred horse.

3rd November - 16th EDP Marathon - Porto
Get ready for a weekend of fun and competition, in one of the greatest race events.
Everyone can participate, since the event includes three quite distinct races - the Porto Marathon, a 42 km race, the Family Race which challenges participants to run 10 km, and the Fun Race, which offers the least athletic the possibility of running 6 km and being a part of the party.
6th – 11th November - Vine and Wine Festival – Borba
The Vine and Wine Festival is back in the Alentejo village of Borba.
The event features several themed fairs with a wide range of entertainment including musical shows, street performances, and sports events. Additionally, attendees can enjoy taverns with excellent gastronomy, certified regional products such as olive oil, cheeses, and sausages, as well as handicrafts and wine tastings.
17th November – Celine I’m Alive – Cascais
November is the month to celebrate one of the most listened-to artists in the world, this time in Portugal.
"Céline I'm Alive" is an unmissable tribute to Céline Dion, through the voice of Sébastien Ménard (better known by his pseudonym Sébastien Costic). They imitate the Canadian singer perfectly, interpreting her brilliantly in gestures, clothing and voice. But more than an imitation, this is a celebration of this iconic singer.
22nd November – Mariza – Lisbon
Mariza, one of the most important voices in Portuguese fado, is back on the big Portuguese stages. A true ambassador of Fado, she will also be at the Super Bock Arena in Porto on 14th December. Celebrating Portuguese music and culture, she was born in Mozambique and grew up in Lisbon. From the moment she dedicated herself to Fado, she quickly gained fans worldwide.
