The building is located at Praça da Liberdade, in Porto, and the implantation is 618.00m².

This building belongs to the Strategic Document Base project –Quarteirão do Imperial, prepared by Porto Vivo, SRU.

Dated from 1934, designed by the architect Artur de Almeida Júnior, it presents a large drawing quality and excellent construction, being the only Art Deco building in this square.

The Licensing Process began in 2019 and the Architectural Project was approved by the City Council on 04/26/2021 (communication of approval).

A postponement will now be requested for the delivery of the specialties.

Project Summary:

We currently have an approved project for a hotel in which on the ground floor we now have the main entrance, with reception, living room, dining space, pantry, sanitary facilities, and the service entrance for employees.


The staircase that characterizes the building remains and we demolished the central elevator, which was built later and removes the natural light that comes from the roof skylight. By demolishing the elevator we restored that light again. We created three new elevators, two for customers who are placed in the lobby that faces the Congregados Church and are panoramic, and a third that is for service.

The 1st floor has a ceiling height of 4.00m and then has a different internal layout, with wider rooms, and it is on this floor, on the rear elevation that we demolished an existing stained glass window and replicated the windows on the upper floors. We had 13 rooms, all properly equipped.
Still on this floor, in the lower part, we opened a patio that exists from the 2nd floor so that we can provide more natural light to the three bedrooms that are found. On the other floors, the changes are merely in terms of internal layout, respecting the metrics of the windows and we have 14 rooms per floor, all properly equipped.

In total we have 69 rooms.

We intend to maintain and requalify all facades, repairing, cleaning and restoring the frames, with the rear facade undergoes changes at the level of the 1st floor, and the facade that faces the Congregados Church also undergoes changes, with the placement of panoramic elevators in the lobby.
