The Sao Bras Museum in the Algarve continues to shine as one of the top locations for events and exhibits. This amazing cultural hub continues to have a vast array of different activities throughout the week. However, the latest art exhibition, which is entitled “Deconstruction” is predicted to be a huge hit with locals and tourists.

This amazing art exhibition is working with fantastic artists such as, Colin Howe and Brendan Skelton, who are both excellent artists with many years of experience. They will both have an opening preview on Saturday 19th January. The doors open at 7pm at the São Brás Museum, and it is set to be an amazing evening. This art display is thought provoking, and will guarantee to get people talking.

Colin Howe B.A is an expert with fine art and has been awarded several prizes for his technique with water colours. This highly educated artist studied at Bradford College and was awarded a licentiateship of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. The numerous private art collections and excellent exhibitions that Colin has been involved with have all been a success.

Brendan Skelton gained a B.ed hons in art and education whilst studying at Bristol University, and has participated in several different careers. Not only has he enjoyed teaching art, technology and art history, he has also worked as a furniture maker. This acclaimed artist has had several successful exhibitions in Portugal, Denmark and the UK.

The different pieces of art in the exhibition are defined by the word deconstruction, which is initiated by elemental and natural forces. This can be the process of decomposition or decay, which can be achieved by humans or animal intervention. Some may feel that the art exhibition is too complex; however, others will understand the concept.

All of the artists which have been involved with the exhibition have focused their artwork on the urban environment. One huge part of the exhibition studies the impact that multi layered advertising has affected the world. This is the process of pasting posters over other posters that were originally there, forcing the layers to grow.

Slowly over time, the previous layers will be exposed, which changes the overall impact of the image. What you may have considered to be an advertising campaign will develop into a fascinating piece of art. You will find that you are stimulated by what is revealed and that it procures a unique collage of different shapes and images.

Every piece of artwork in the exhibition needs to be easily defined, and people should be able to relate to the images without too much thought or presentation. Top quality art exhibitions should lead you through the different pieces, allowing you to establish your own thoughts. Alongside the artwork, there are also three dimensional pieces, and excellent sculptured art.

All of these pieces follow the same approach and values as the art and ensure that there is humour injected into every piece. Subjects that are intense such as urban neglect will be better explained in a humorous manner. If you are fortunate enough to be in the Algarve when this exhibition is on, you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality.
